The Australian Blueprint for Career Development

What is it?

The Australian Blueprint for Career Development is a framework for designing, implementing and evaluating career development programs for young people and adults. At its core, the Blueprint identifies the skills, attitudes and knowledge that individuals need to make sound choices and to effectively manage their careers.

Why is it important?

The Blueprint is tailored to the way we learn to manage life, learning and work. It’s important because it introduces a consistent and quality careers framework for all Australian schools, universities, training organisations and companies.

The Blueprint and Work-Ready Program

The Work-Ready Program is committed to the engagement and support of young people towards a successful school to work transition and beyond.

The team are pleased to announce that Work-Ready is now linked to the Australian Blueprint for Career Development.

The competencies and learning outcomes of Work-Ready align with all three areas of the Australian Blueprint for Careers Development

  • Area A: Personal Management
  • Area B: Learning and Work Exploration
  • Area C: Career Building

The activities and workshops of Work-Ready’s modules fit seamlessly with the aims and purpose of the Blueprint.

With schools and community groups throughout Australia already using Work-Ready, and with many more tailoring their Careers and Work Studies curriculums to the Blueprint – this is just another great reason to get on board and take advantage of everything that Work-Ready has to offer – to both educators and young people alike!
